Kriti Talks

Over the past few weeks, we have intensified our outreach efforts and engaged continuously with prospective clients. These interactions have highlighted the importance of continuously learning new skills and discovering innovative ways to deliver solutions and value. To achieve this, we must all regularly review our work to find more efficient and error-free methods. This often requires close coordination among team members. Additionally, it is crucial for everyone to learn skills and best practices from one another, especially from our senior team members. To support this, we have acquired additional space to facilitate better collaboration. Furthermore, we are implementing tighter project management and knowledge management processes. I believe these initiatives will yield significant benefits, even in the short term. Thank you for your continued dedication and hard work. Let’s keep pushing forward together.

Object Detection in Logistics Setting

In shipping and logistics, tracking products’ movement from the suppliers’ store to the customers’ doorstep is becoming more and more granular and detailed these days, so as to prevent delays, loss, theft, and damage during transit. To enhance operational efficiency, accuracy, and safety, detection and tracking of packages, equipment, and the people handling them within a warehouse, distribution center, or during transportation thus becomes a vital process for every shipping company – big or small. Efficient supervision here enables more efficient vehicle loading, reduces company costs and enhances delivery speed.

By leveraging the capabilities of the current state-of-the-art object detection models, KritiKal Solutions can assist logistics companies in automating the detection and tracking, and effective management of numerous packages and boxes simultaneously in real time.

Monitoring activity in a loading bay, for instance, comes with constraints such as computing power, camera position, environment lighting, and the variety of targets in object detection- workers, pallets, cardboard boxes, color-tagged bags, etc.

With the goal to identify the handling of packages, recognize the movement of boxes in and out of the loading bay, and finally spot any breaches in package handling protocol by the workers involved, all in real time, the Vision systems team has built a smart one-stop solution powered by the latest generation of YOLO Object Detection models, trained on a large and diverse dataset, painstakingly curated and cleaned to ensure optimal accuracy and precision. These models detect both the packages and the workers by predicting bounding boxes and class probabilities from the video feed. Furthermore, the detected entities are numbered and tracked with the worker movement patterns studied to flag improper handling of the tracked packages.

With our generalized lightweight solution achieving high levels of accuracy in various environments and settings, KritiKal can smarten your warehouse and streamline your operations workflow.
